HP MJF HP nylon gray sample parts: better batch consistency and dimensional stability, suitable for low- to medium-volume production of functional parts and assembly positioning parts, optional sandblasting, painting and threaded inserts

Key Material and Manufacturing Parameters

Engineering note: Values below are typical reference ranges. Final manufacturability, tolerances, material condition, surface finish, cost, and lead time depend on the drawing, geometry, quantity, and selected process.

Upload CAD files and mark critical features for an engineering review before production.

ProcessHP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) 3D Printing (Nylon)
ColorGray (commonly used for engineering parts; suitable for functional validation and batch delivery)
Dimensional tolerance±0.20 mm or ±0.20% (whichever is greater); it is recommended to mark the tolerance or note "accuracy first" for the key hole/datum surface
Minimum wall thickness≥0.8 mm (conventional); recommended ≥2.0 mm and reinforcement near stress/screws
Minimum apertureRecommend ≥1.5–2.0 mm (direct forming hole); it is recommended to reserve a margin for assembly holes/fitting holes and ream/ream the holes twice.
Service temperatureAbout 120℃ (common indicators; affected by working conditions and design)
Tensile strength45–55 MPa (suitable for functional parts and structural validation)
DensityAbout 1.02 g/cm³
Assembly enhancements support Threaded inserts; Please indicate the thread specification (such as M2/M3/M4), quantity and location; please note if you need to enlarge/ream/tapping

Typical lead timeRelated to size, quantity, typesetting density and finishing; clear delivery and expedited options will be given after uploading the file

Finishing

Sandblasting (better batch consistency)

Unifies surface touch and matte texture, reducing differences in powder texture; very friendly to "multi-piece delivery consistency".

Spray painting (closer to the finished look)

Suitable for projects that require uniform color, covering powder texture or improving the finished product; it is recommended to note the target texture and reference image (matte/semi-matte, etc.).

Threaded inserts (screw connection is more reliable)

Used for screw assembly and repeated disassembly and assembly verification; please note the thread specifications, quantity and location, and evaluate the secondary processing plan for the hole location if necessary.

Why Choose HP MJF Nylon PA12-Solid Gray

Batch consistency is more stable

It is suitable for parallel production of multiple pieces and delivery of repeated pieces, with less size fluctuations, and is more conducive to standardized quality inspection and repurchase delivery.

Functional parts are friendly (structural validation is more practical)

Compared with SLA resin that favors appearance, MJF nylon is more suitable for assembly and functional validation stages, taking into account both strength and durability.

Lightweight and structural designability

It is suitable for complex structures, cavities and lightweight designs; it is also common for assembly of positioning parts and fixtures.

Complete finishing and assembly solutions

Optional sandblasting/painting improves consistency and appearance; optional when screw connections are required Threaded inserts Improve assembly reliability.

Recommended Applications

  • Small and medium batch functional parts: Parallel production of multiple pieces and delivery consistency are more important
  • Assembly positioning parts: Positioning blocks, brackets, fixtures and other parts that require dimensional stability
  • Duplicate delivery/repurchase: Hope to reduce rework and size fluctuations and facilitate standardized inspection
  • Screw assembly verification: Configurable Threaded inserts Improve reliability of repeated disassembly and assembly

It is not recommended to use it directly (it is recommended to change materials/processes)

  • Higher rigidity/higher dimensional stability: Priority is given to glass fiber reinforced version (MJF GF)
  • Pursuing the ultimate delicate appearance: Optional SLA appearance resin, or adding a spray paint solution to this material
  • Ultra-high precision fit: Recommend secondary processing (hole expansion/reaming) or switch to CNC/injection molding route
  • High temperature/high load long-term use: Recommended to evaluate more heat-resistant/higher strength engineering material systems

Design and DFM Guidelines

  • Key hole/datum plane: Please mark the tolerances and datums on the 2D drawings; it is recommended to leave a margin for the assembly holes and perform secondary reaming/reaming if necessary.
  • Thin wall and strength: The minimum wall thickness is recommended to be ≥0.8mm; the stress-bearing parts should be thickened/reinforced to avoid the risk of stress concentration and deformation caused by sudden changes in thickness.
  • Buckle structure: It can be done but the strain needs to be controlled (add fillets, reduce deformation, increase lead-in). It is recommended to explain repeated fatigue conditions in advance for evaluation.
  • Batch consistency: It is recommended to unify the placement strategy and inspection method for duplicate parts; random inspection/full inspection strategies can be recommended for key dimensions.
  • Appearance and finishing: If you are sensitive to appearance consistency, it is recommended to sandblast; if you need more finished color and texture, it is recommended to spray paint and provide reference pictures.

Comparison with common nylon/resin materials

Material Key Advantages Mainly applicable Not suitable
White Nylon (SLS) Functional and balanced, no support required, suitable for complex structures and low- to medium-volume typesetting Structural validation, assembly parts, wear-resistant moving parts, small batch functional parts Ultimate mirror appearance, ultra-high precision fit (requires secondary processing/process change)
Black Nylon (SLS) The functional type is more stable; the black appearance is more resistant to dirt and is suitable for functional parts with color requirements. Assembly parts, structural parts, wear-resistant parts, batch functional parts The ultimate mirror appearance and high-precision combination
HP Nylon & Fiberglass - Gray (MJF GF) Stronger rigidity and dimensional stability, suitable for load-bearing structural parts/positioning parts Load-bearing structural parts, assembly positioning parts, functional parts with priority on dimensional stability Fasteners that require a certain degree of elasticity/toughness (needs evaluation)
Black SLA Resin (SLA) The appearance has a stronger finished look and clearer details, suitable for display/review/photography Appearance prototypes, review samples, display samples, photographic samples Long-term functional parts/high load/fatigue resistance (nylon is better)
Tough SLA - Yellow-Green (SLA) It has a delicate appearance and good details, while being more impact-resistant than standard resins. Appearance + prototype with certain toughness, buckle verification, light load function verification Complex structure mass layout, wear-resistant for long-term use (better with nylon)
