Finishing

sandblasting

Used to remove slight oxidation and processing marks to obtain a more uniform matte texture; also often used as surface pretreatment before powder coating/painting.

Blackening

Improves appearance consistency and provides certain rust resistance; suitable for indoor structural parts, fixture brackets and other projects that require a black appearance.

Oxidation

It is used to form a surface protective layer and improve appearance stability; if the requirements for corrosion resistance are higher, it is recommended to use environmental assessment in conjunction with a more suitable solution.

galvanized

One of the common anti-rust solutions, suitable for humid environments, outdoors or sheet metal parts that require corrosion resistance.

Nickel plated

Used to improve corrosion resistance and appearance texture; suitable for parts that have certain requirements for surface decoration or wear resistance (need to be combined with structure and cost evaluation).

Dusting

Powder coating has strong coverage, wear resistance, and good appearance consistency; often used for enclosures, shells, and brackets for end-user visible components.

spray paint

The color and gloss are controllable, suitable for small batches of cosmetic parts and projects that require quick matching of appearance effects; color numbers/reference pictures can be given in the remarks.

Why choose Q235 (sheet metal fabrication)

Cost-friendly and versatile

Suitable for most structural component prototypes and functional validation; quickly advance project iterations under a controllable budget.

Wide range of processing adaptability

The cutting, bending, welding and assembly paths are mature and suitable for typical sheet metal structures such as shells, brackets, and chassis cabinets.

There is plenty of room for improvement in appearance

It supports common appearance solutions such as powder coating/painting; at the same time, anti-rust surface finishing can be made to adapt to the use environment.

High delivery efficiency

Materials are highly available and suitable for small batches and multi-batch iterations; uploading drawings can quickly evaluate quotes and lead times.

Recommended Applications

  • cost sensitive structural parts: Shell, bracket, mounting plate, chassis cabinet, etc.
  • Prototype and functional validation: Rapid iteration is required and delivery efficiency is prioritized
  • Appearance can be improved: Color and texture can be unified by powder coating/painting
  • Can be used for rust prevention: Choose galvanizing/powder coating/painting and other solutions according to the environment

Consider Another Material or Process

  • Strongly corrosive environment: It is recommended to evaluate stainless steel/aluminum alloy or stronger protection system
  • Extremely sensitive to lightweighting: Aluminum alloy or structural weight reduction design can be evaluated
  • High appearance mirror: It is more suitable to choose a material/process combination with a surface that is easier to "make refined"
  • Ultra high strength/high fatigue: Can evaluate higher grade steel or structural strengthening options

Design and DFM Guidelines

  • Plate thickness and bending information: Please clarify the plate thickness, bending angle/direction, bending radius and bending line position to avoid "default understanding" causing rework.
  • Hole to edge/hole to bend distance: Holes located close to edges or bending lines are prone to deformation; it is recommended that key holes be spaced apart and marked with key dimensions.
  • Welding and assembly: If it includes spot welding/full welding/studs/rivet nuts, etc., please indicate the location, quantity and appearance requirements on the drawing or remarks.
  • Rust prevention strategy: Q235 is easy to rust, so choose galvanizing/powder coating/painting, etc. according to the environment; if there are conductive/grounding requirements, please indicate in advance.
  • Appearance acceptance: Please note the color number, gloss (matte/high gloss) and appearance definition for powder coating/painting; provide reference pictures if necessary.
